Archie Ray McCraney, age 71, of Carriere passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009 at his residence.
Visitation will be Friday, October 2nd from 6:00 to 9 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at George Ford Baptist Church, with Bro. Doyle Ball officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery.
Archie was a pipe welder, loved riding his motorcycle and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of
George Ford Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Carriere.
He is survived by his wife, Kay McCraney of Carriere ;two sons, Robert M. (Donna) McCraney of Carriere
and Joel C. (Stacey) McCraney of Slidell, LA ;two stepsons, Brandon Williamson of Tuscaloosa, AL and Dustin Williamson of New Orleans, LA ;two brothers, James McCraney of Carriere and Johnnie McCraney of Kenner, LA ;five grandchildren, Kayleb McCraney, Jarrett Cochran, Jenna Cochran, Lexus McCraney and Brett McCraney ;two great-grandchildren, Taylor Cochran and Tierston Cochran.
He is preceded in death by his parents, A. C. and Hazel McCraney ;his late wife, Elizabeth W. McCraney.
