Alan Gene Hornke passed away on August 23, 2026, at the age of 82. He was born on September 23, 1943.

He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and a NASA Engineer.  He enjoyed Race Care Driving and Building cars. For many years he was a Gun Store Owner and a collector. Alan will be remembered with love by his family and all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Shane Hornke (Stephanie), Eugene Hornke, Nikol Necaise and Alisa Hornke. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Chance Hornke, Summer Eason, Brycen Necaise, Clay Necaise, Jennah Necaise, Carter Necaise, Bella Hornke, Addison Gisclair, Jayden Hornke, and Kearstin Ishe. His family also includes his great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Lydia Sue, and Ari.

Alan was preceded in death by his father, Gene Hornke, his mother, Dora Waite and his daughter, Renee Eason.

He will be deeply missed by his family, whose lives were touched by his presence across generations. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and peace in the days ahead.

A service will be held at a date to be announced. Arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
