Alice Carol Mozingo, born on January 10, 1937, in Jackson, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, in Picayune, Mississippi. She was 89 years old and will be remembered fondly by many.
Alice enjoyed serving as a Docent at the Mississippi State Capitol,sharing her love and knowledge of history with countless visitors. She grew up in Jackson and later moved to St. Simons Island, Georgia, where she spent many fulfilling years before returning to her roots in Jackson. She attended The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), where she was proud to be a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
In her personal life, Alice had many passions and interests. She loved reading, traveling, was an avid Bridge player, and a member in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She especially enjoyed watching Ole Miss Football, which reflected her spirited connection to her alma mater and her home state.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Lisa Naquin, and her husband, Allen Naquin; her son, Thomas H. Beckum, and his wife, Laura Timmons Beckum; her cousin, Nancy Bonner; lifelong friends Myrna Harriet Cauthan and Barbara Yeagley; and her beloved grandchildren, Sara A. McCord, Andrew D. Ashworth, Max C. Beckum, and Wade H. Beckum.
She was preceded in death by her father, Murvel C. Dodson; mother, Ruth Alice Dodson; and her husband, James Mozingo.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation with the family on January 30, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Picayune Funeral Home, located at 815 S. Haugh Ave., Picayune, MS 39466.
Alice Carol Mozingo's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
