Argel "Cowboy" Lynn Barber

Argel "Cowboy" Lynn Barber was born on September 28, 1943, in Picayune, Mississippi. He passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, in Poplarville, Mississippi.

Argel was a devoted family man, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. He is survived by his sons, Frankie Barber (Lisa) and William "Curtis" Barber (Janelle) , as well as his step daughters, Joy Freeman (George), Sonja Stewart and Karen Farrar. He also had a nephew, Joe Bennett (Mildred), who he embraced as a son. Argel enjoyed the company of a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought great joy to his life.

Argel is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife of over 45 years, Barbara Barber. He is also preceded in death by his father, Wilburn Barber, his mother, Mattie Penton Barber, his step-son, Robert D. Farrar, and his sister, Mattie Lee Bennett.

Argel "Cowboy" Lynn Barber will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the love he shared with those around him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Thursday September 11, 2025 at 10AM.
