Bobby Wayne Archer, 73, of Greeneville, Tennessee, passed away at Johnson City Medical Center Monday, March 16, 2026 after a battle with lung cancer. Born in Picayune, Mississippi November 28, 1952, Bobby was born to drive a truck. He could drive anything with wheels. He was happiest being behind the wheel of his Peterbilt. When he did take a break, he enjoyed throwing a hook into the water to catch bass. His wife of 39 years, Vanessa Archer, enjoyed taking trips to enjoy the mountains, camping, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. We were all proud of his service in the National Guard.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Archer Sr. and Wilda Archer, his brother Norman Leslie Archer, Sr., sister Cheryl Ann Spiers, brother James “Jimmy” Archer, and his granddaughter, Kelcey Archer.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Vanessa Archer, daughter Veronica Smith (Andy), son Kenneth Archer (Wendy), daughter Alicia Palazzo (Michael), daughter Kacie McCullugh (Matt). His grandchildren Bradley Stockstill (Bree), Asia Gorbach, Elizabeth Adams (Corey), Shelby Osorio (KJ), McKenzie Archer, Ethan Palazzo, Matthew Palazzo (Jules), Nicholas Palazzo, Benjamin Palazzo, Trevor, Logan, Brodie, and Tatem McCullugh. Great grandchildren include Madison Stockstill, James and Kelsey Adams, Katherine Hampton, and Jackson McCullugh.
Clergy: Todd Spiers, Bobby’s nephew
Bobby’s services will be conducted at Picayune Funeral Home on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 1:00 for family, visitation at 2:00, service at 3:00. His final resting place will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Nicholson, Mississippi.
