Brenda Lucille Lott, born on March 29, 1955, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, in Picayune, Mississippi, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many in her community.
Brenda was a woman of many talents and interests, known for her exceptional cooking and skill in canning food. Her kitchen was always filled with the rich aromas of her culinary creations, where she would often gather family and friends to share not only meals but also heartfelt conversations. She had a deep appreciation for antiques and spent many joyful hours collecting treasures that told stories of the past. Adding to her family’s joy, Brenda lovingly raised farm animals, including chickens, ducks, and rabbits, teaching her children and grandchildren the joys of nurturing life.
A long-time foster parent, Brenda embodied the spirit of compassion and kindness, opening her home and heart to children in need. She made significant contributions to the community through her active involvement in the Arms of Ruth Widows Ministry, her role at the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Picayune and a member of Resurrection Life Church. Furthermore, her leadership and dedication shone through in her many years as an officer of the Rural Letter Carrier Association, where her commitment to service set a powerful example for others.
Brenda is survived by her loving sons, Jason J. Badeaux (Brandi) and Andrew Roberts Jr; her beloved daughter, Rheda Walters (David); her dear brothers, Narvel "Ed" Lott and Victor "Leon" Lott; and her cherished grandchildren, Shaelyn Badeaux-Floyd, Victoria Badeaux, Ashton Badeaux, Jason B. Badeaux, Lyle Walters, Philip Walters, and Samuel Walters. Each of them carries a piece of Brenda's enduring legacy in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Edward Lott and Francis Duckworth Dunagan, and her daughter Shannon Brown who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms.
A graveside service in her honor will be held on February 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at New Palestine Cemetery in Picayune, MS.
