Charlotte Johnson

Charlotte Johnson, 80, of Carriere, Mississippi passed away on July 8, 2025.

Hazel "Charlotte" Dahl Johnson was born into this world on 3/3/1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Loved ones who preceded her in death were her parents Hazel and Bjorn Dahl, her godmother Ruth "FuFu" McCraney, Leroy Fricke, siblings Solveig Hutchison and Charlie Dahl and great granddaughter Chanley Fricke.

Charlotte is survived by the love of her life and husband of 44 years, Vic Johnson. Two sons, Jon "Kevin" Fricke and Leo (Candi) Fricke and her only daughter, Wendy Fricke Lee. Grandchildren Trevor (Emily) Lee, Dennis (Lauren) LaBruzza, David LaBruzza, Jamie (Jade) Sumpter, Tyler (Bethany) Fricke and Samantha "Sambo" Lee. Great grandchildren Lawson LaBruzza, Makynli LaBruzza, Kainan LaBruzza, Colt Lee, Corbin Lee, Josie Sumpter, Eva LaBruzza, Emma LaBruzza, Colt LaBruzza, Faith Lee, Eden LaBruzza, Clate Sumpter, and Cooper Ray Fricke. Brother, Johnny Dahl and two sisters, Linda (Carroll) Ladner and Michelle (Brian) Spaulding and numerous nieces and nephews. In-laws Jesse and Shirley Johnson, Deb (Ronnie) Mitchell and Lisa (Paul) Jarrell.

Charlotte had many occupations during her lifetime. She worked a s a bookkeeper, waitress, veterinarian technician, but her favorite was homemaker. Having time for her husband, children, grandchildren, and then great grandchildren is what her world revolved around. Charlotte had many things in life that brought her joy but horses were at the top of the list. She loved to run the barrels as fast as she could. She was a true artist and craftsman. Many years ago we witnessed her ability to draw but that love turned to woodworking and if she could think it, then she had the ability to create it. 

As we try to navigate a life without her, we know she left this world and her family with a passion for life and love that will never be forgotten or matched.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Friday, July 25th at the home of Leo and Candi Fricke, 30 Hubert Ladner Rd, Poplarville, MS 39470. Visitation will begin at 6pm and graveside will be in the Fricke Family Cemetery located at the same address at 7pm.
