George F. Kerner, Jr., born on May 25, 1953, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on March 19, 2026, in Carriere, Mississippi. He lived a life marked by honor, dedication, and deep love for his family and country.

A proud third-generation veteran, George carried forward a legacy of service that began with his grandfather, who served during World War I, and his father, who was a World War II veteran. George himself served with distinction as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War, exemplifying patriotism and commitment.

George will be remembered by his loving wife, Caridad Kerner; his daughter, Jennifer Kerner, and her husband, Micah; his devoted sons, George Kerner III and Preston Kerner; and his brother, Robert Kerner. His legacy continues in his cherished grandchildren: Caroleena, Alejandro, Gabriel, and Brandon.

He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Emma (married to Asdollah), Beatriz (married to David), and Jacqueline; his brothers-in-law, William and Richard; as well as nieces Teresa, Sara (married to Roberto), Robin, Alane, and Ariane; and nephews Mario (married to Jacquelyn), Robert (Little Robert), Joseph, Christopher, and Kenny. The wide circle of family who loved and cared for George is a testament to the warmth and kindness he shared throughout his life.

George was preceded in death by his father, George Kerner Sr., his mother, Irma St. Germain Kerner, his sister, Anne Kerner, and his mother- and father-in-law, Emma and Luciano.

The family invites friends and loved ones to gather for a burial service in honor of George’s life and service. The burial will be held at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery located at 34888 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, Louisiana, 70460, on March 27, 2026. The service will begin at 9:00 AM and conclude by 10:00 AM.

George F. Kerner, Jr.’s life was one of integrity, courage, and devotion. His memory will be treasured by those who knew him and loved him dearly.
