Havard R. Simmons, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on September 27, 2025, at home, surrounded by his cherished family. He was born on April 4, 1934, in Alabama and lived a life marked by simplicity and self-sufficiency. For 68 years, Havard shared his journey with his loving wife, Loretta Simmons, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons.

Havard’s life was characterized by a steadfast commitment to family and an unwavering dedication to his pursuits. He proudly served in the Marines and fought valiantly during the Korean War, embodying the spirit of resilience and honor that defined his character. After his military service, Havard returned home to embrace a humble life and cultivated his passions, often found "piddling" with various projects around the house, including working diligently in his garden and fine-tuning lawn mowers.

He took great joy in the simple pleasures of life, finding delight in watching Judge Judy, which marked the highlight of his day, and fervently enjoying football games on television, immersing himself in the spirit of the sport. He was the owner of H.R. Simmons Ceramic Tile and was a Tile and Stone Mason for over twenty years.

Havard leaves behind a loving family, including his sons, Steven Simmons (Michelle), Randy Simmons, Mark Simmons (Maritza), and Stanley Simmons (Leah); his daughter, Linda Marino; and his treasured grandchildren, Steven, Stephanie, Megan, Brittany, Steve Jr., Amanda, Tony, Lorretta, Mark Jr., Mia, and Ashley. Additionally, he is survived by numerous great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his heart.

He was predeceased by his father, Sidney Simmons, his mother, Sudie Asbury Simmons, and many siblings, as well as his grandchildren, Randall Jr. and Jordan.

Havard's legacy of love, loyalty, and dedication will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate to know him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
