Henry "Chet" Bowen Sr.

Henry "Chet" Bowen Sr. was born on May 25, 1950, in Cordele, Georgia. He dedicated many years of his life to serving his community as a Police Captain in Pearl River, Louisiana. Chet passed away on October 10, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Chet is survived by his loving wife, Linda Bowen, and his son, Henry "Chet" Bowen Jr. He also leaves behind his stepson Charlie Schielder and his wife Marilyn, along with his stepdaughters Karen Coci and her husband Mike, and Lisa Glasscock and her husband David. Chet's legacy continues through his brothers: Herman Samuel Bowen and his wife Becky, Carlton Jim Bowen, Herman "Hermy" Edwin Bowen, Eric Antonio Bowen and his wife Tammy, Daniel Bowen, and Matthew Bowen. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Lynn Dunning and her husband David, and Denice Bowen.

Chet's family deeply mourns his passing, remembering him as a devoted husband, father, and friend. He joins in eternal rest his father, Herman Bowen, and his mother, Louise Moody. He is also reunited in death with his brothers, Chris Sherman Bowen and Thomas Evans, and his sister, Janeen Cook.

A visitation for Chet will be held at West Union Baptist Church on Thursday October 16, 2025 for 10am followed by a funeral for 11am.
