Ida Pearl Long Langston, born on March 12, 1938, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, in Abita Springs, Louisiana. She was a beloved matriarch, known for her warmth and caring spirit.
Pearl was a passionate member of New Henleyfield Baptist Church, where she dedicated her time to helping with various events and activities. She had a love for sewing, which brought her joy and allowed her to connect with others.
Pearl is survived by her son, Michael Clarence Langston (Constance), and her daughter, Gail Lynn Langston (Owen McMullen). She was also the the cherished sister of Thomas Arthur Long. Additionally, she leaves behind six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, with one more on the way, along with two great-great-grandchildren.
Pearl was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, JB Langston, as well as her son, Dale Edward Langston. She is also reunited with her father, Clifton Long, mother, Mary Long, brothers, John Russell Long, Bob Long, Bill Long and sisters, Alma Henry, Vera Coleman, and Elsie.
Her family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating her life. The visitation will be held at New Henleyfield Southern Baptist in Carriere, MS, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on November 20, 2025, followed by a funeral service starting at 11:00 AM. Pearl will be laid to rest at First Baptist Church of Henleyfield, where the burial service will take place at 12:00 PM.
Ida Pearl Long Langston will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
