James Bryant Bernich

James Bryant Bernich, born on October 1, 1956, peacefully went on to be with the LORD on June 13th, 2025 in Picayune, Mississippi. A proud Veteran of the United States Airforce, James lived a life of service and dedication and in his spare time he enjoyed sports, fishing and camping.

In 2015, James, a native of New Orleans Louisiana and his wife and daughter, relocated to Picayune to enjoy his retirement and be closer to his son and his family. 

James was a devoted husband to Sondra D. Bernich, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Together they built a family that upheld values and dedication to each other. He was a proud father to his daughter Dana Bernich, and his son, Jason Bernich. James took great joy in his grandsons AJ and Wyatt Bernich, who brought much happiness to his life.

James is also survived by his sister Patricia B. Macenko, his brother Kenneth O. Bernich and wife Carol B. Bernich and Elaine Bernich his sister-in-law, niece and nephew Lilian M. Lawson and husband Allen Lawson and children James Lawson and wife, and Layla Lawson, Nephew Kyle Bernich and Niece Marybeth Bernich (wife), and children Bria and Kurt Bernich, Nephew Cory Bernich and (Wife) Kelsey Bernich Niece and children, Naomi and Celine (CeCe) Bernich, Niece Tonya B. Carbo, Nephew Dwyane Carbo, Great-Niece Whitney C. Thomassie and (husband) Kurt Thomassie and Great-great  Nephews Christian and Rhett Thomassie and Great-great Niece Lainey Thomassie, Great-Niece Macie C. Marshall and husband Greg Marshall Great-Nephew, Great-Niece Madison Carbo, Niece Milissa Bernich. He will be sweetly remembered for his love, kindness, humor and dedication.

James was preceded in death by his (Biological Father) John Bernich, his loving mother Yvonne Bernich, Steven A. Bernich (younger brother), Johnny Bernich (older brother), Shawn Bernich (Nephew) and (Great-Niece) Abigail Carbo "precious angel". His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. 

As we remember James B. Bernich, we celebrate his life and his memory, reminiscing about the times of family, love and laughter. The love we have for him and the love he gave to us, will forever live in our hearts.
