Jerry Francis Mire, age 85, born January 5, 1941, passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the son of the late Leonard Adrian Mire and May Marie Mire, and now joins them in eternal rest.

He was born and raised in Gretna, Louisiana, and was a long-time resident of Chalmette, Louisiana, where he lived with his family before moving after retirement with his wife to Carriere, Mississippi.

He shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Charlotte Schmidt Mire. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and enduring commitment.

He is survived by his beloved children: Stephanie Theriot (Danny), Melanie Fletcher (Christopher), Tiffanie Gagliano (Vincent), and Janie Fletcher (Darryl). He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Anthony, Tyler (Kelsie), Noah, Cole, Jake, Jack, Laney, Callie, Clayton, Alyson, and Caydee.

Jerry was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and carried that sense of service and dedication throughout his life. He retired from Folgers Coffee Company after 37 years of dedicated service as a plant supervisor. In his retirement, Jerry enjoyed traveling, cruising, exploring new places, and making lasting memories with his family. He also loved spending time on his land, where he found peace and joy.

Jerry was a proud and loving father, and his life was defined by his deep devotion to his family. He will be remembered for his warmth, strength, and kindness, and for the many lives he touched along the way. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
