Jessie James Foster Sr., born on November 25, 1931, in Campti, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, surrounded by love and family. His life was marked by dedication, service, and a deep connection to the land.
A proud Army Veteran, Mr. Foster served his country for a brief but meaningful period, demonstrating his commitment and patriotism. Beyond his military service, Jessie found joy and fulfillment in the simple and rewarding pleasures of farm life. His passion for tending plants and nurturing growth reflected the patience and care he extended to all facets of his life.
Jessie Foster was a respected Mason, a testament to his values of integrity, friendship, and community service. His commitment to these principles was evident throughout his life and in the relationships he cultivated with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda S. Foster; his parents, John and Willie Foster; his siblings John (Red) Foster, Willie Gene (Bull) Foster, Jack Foster, Raymond (Ray) Foster, Richard (Dick) Foster, Shirley Heath, and Wayne Foster; his daughter Tina Foster Williams; and his granddaughters, Ashley Foster and Jamie Sue Foster.
Jessie’s legacy continues through his devoted children: Jessie Foster Jr. (Cheryl), Gary Foster (Mi Cha), Paul Foster, Melynda Duchmann (Dwayne), Amber Beckham (Josh), and Jessica McCrory (Kyle). He was a proud grandfather to Tiffany Casey (Tyler), Scott Foster, Dallas Foster, Lynda Foster, Jessica Lynn Buchanon (Tyler), Whitney Brown, and Joey Duchmann. His joy was further multiplied by his great-grandchildren: Raven Ladner (Eric), Kaden Beckham, Isabella Perniciaro, Ashston Perniciaro, Aven Casey, Nolan Casey, Harley McCrory, Lane McCrory, Carlyn Wade, JT Wade, Sophie Buchanon, and Noah Nunley.
Jessie James Foster’s life was a testament to steadfast devotion—to his country, to his family, and to the values that he held dear. His memory will be cherished by those who knew him, and his influence will forever remain a guiding light for his descendants. He will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude for the meaningful life he led.
Services will be held Monday May 11, 2026, at Picayune Funeral Home. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
