Joseph Anthony Marchand Jr. Longtime resident of Poplarville, Mississippi passed away Tuesday April 9, 2024.
Joe was born on March 4, 1953, to parents Joseph Anthony Marchand Sr., and Renelda Jastram Marchand.
He grew up in Slidell, Louisiana, eventually joined the Army, and worked many years for Lockheed Martin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, and took immense pride in being a father and grandfather.
Joseph is preceded in death by his father Joseph Anthony Marchand Sr., Mother Renelda Jastram Marchand, wife Veta Watkins Marchand, son Jacob Marchand Sr., and brother Michael Marchand.
His memory will be cherished by his son Joshua Marchand, grandson Jacob Marchand Jr. (Jennifer), great granddaughter Calla Marchand, brothers Richard Marchand (Debra), David Marchand (Robin), sister Deborah Marchand, niece and caregiver Brittany Pruitt, nephews Zachariah Marchand, Paul Billiot, Keith Loverde, step sons Roger L. Watkins Jr., Calvin C. Atkinson Jr., stepdaughters Sheila Watkins Watras, Diane Marie Maguire, Charlotte Atkinson Sones, grandchildren Logan Bailey, Hope Miller, David Merwin, Danielle Barnes, Garry Maguire, Katelyn Atkinson, Brent Watkins, Kyle Cawby, and great grandchildren Jazmine Merwin, Savannah Merwin, Katelynn Cawby, and Tyler Watkins.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at 1000 Goodyear Blvd. Picayune, MS 39466 at 11am Thursday April 18, 2024. Visitation to start at 10am.
All arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
