Kathleen (Kathy) Kay Mayer, 82 of Burnsville MN was called away to be with the Lord after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease on Thursday January 22, 2026. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family in Picayune, MS.

Kathy was born and raised in Willmar, MN and made her lifelong home in Burnsville, MN where she raised her daughter Kristina. She was well loved by so many and had many lifelong friendships, most dating all the way back to elementary school. She graduated in 1961 from Willmar High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College. She then spent the next 40 years traveling the world as a flight attendant for Northwest (Delta) Airlines.

Kathy was an beloved nana, mother, daughter and friend with a deep love and soft spot for animals. She was a gracious hostess with exquisite taste, talented baker and and excellent cook. She also had a green thumb with a passion for gardening and landscaping. She loved being outside in the peace and serenity of nature.

Kathy is survived by her daughter Kristina Malott (Kaleb) and 4 grandchildren, Micah, Merrick, Malachi and Madilyn.

Preceded in death by grandparents Gladys and Horton Sperry, father, Douglas Noyes, mother, Bernice Wardlow, (Carl) and her many beloved animals over the years.
