It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth "Joe" Vede on July 31, 2026. Joe was born in Marrero, Louisiana on April 27, 1961. He grew up in Westwego, Louisiana, but spent most of his life in Mississippi. He spent many years working as a deck hand. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and his favorite pastime was to fish and hunt. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Kirby Joseph Vede and Lula Bee Broome Vede, and his nephews Grady Goodwin and Thermon (Spud) Gibson. 

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters Chris Dell Bourg, Delores Diane Brown, Gwyn Ellen Goodwin, Sonya Rae Jarrell, and his only brother Jason Kirby Vede, along with all their spouses.

Also left to cherish his memory are his nieces and nephews Jennifer Kay Smith, Tiffani Amber Phillips, Karee Ann Reiter, April Smith, Paula Baker, Justin Vede, and Brandon Vede.

His great nieces and great nephews Matti Phillips, Sophia Reiter, Amira Baker, Lane Amacker, Landon Smith, Landry Smith, Braiden Phillips, Kaden Phillips, Jacob Reiter, Maveryck Fox, Myles Fox, Colton Vede, Travis Jarrell, Rayna Vazquez, Kira Houck, and Devyn Johnson.
