Larry L. Davis, a beloved family man, passed away on January 29, 2026, in Carriere, Mississippi, at the age of 81. Born on January 20, 1945, in Picayune, Mississippi, Larry lived a life marked by dedication to his family and commitment to his work.
Larry was a retired machinist at Lockheed-Martin, where he took great pride in knowing that his creations are now floating through space. He served his country as a US Navy Veteran, completing three tours in Vietnam, a testament to his bravery and service.
Larry was a caregiver by nature, having taken care of his wife, mother, and brothers for many years. He married the love of his life, Linda M. Davis, in 1970, and they enjoyed 37 beautiful years together before her passing in 2007. Larry's family meant the world to him, and he often found joy in chasing his grandchildren around. They were a central part of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He leaves behind his son Hoyt Davis and his wife Sandy; his sisters Joan Bounds Strickland (Ira), and Nancy Hayman; his sister-in-law Verna Davis, and his beloved grandchildren Zachery Newton, Will Davis, and Abby Davis. Larry also had a special bond with his dog, Scotty Davis.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda M. Davis, brothers Randy Davis, Gary Davis, and his parents Clarence and Lois Davis.
Visitation will be held on February 7, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Picayune Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 815 S. Haugh Ave., Picayune, MS 39466.
Larry L. Davis will be remembered for his loving spirit, creativity, and the adventures he shared with his family. His presence will be deeply missed.
