Lee Joseph Richeaux Jr. went into eternal rest on October 20, 2026. Lee was born on September 20, 1942, in New Orleans, Louisiana to parents Lee Joseph Richoux (Richeaux) Sr. and Dorothy Breaux Richeaux.
Lee met the love of his life Barbara Ann in June of 1962, when he was 19 and Barbara was 16. They were married on November 21, 1964, and this year would be their 62nd wedding anniversary. Their love for each other never wavered.
Lee was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time spent with his family. Lee had a passion for collecting. His collection included the Lionel trains, baseball cards, Popeye, and Case knives to name a few. Along with his son and grandsons they shared a common interest with the love of Star Wars. Together with his beloved wife, Barbara, they successfully operated a business in the French Market for 35 years. A skilled pipefitter by trade, Lee was a proud member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60. He was also deeply committed to his faith and community, serving as a Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus (Archbishop Joseph F. Rummel Chalmette Council #5747) and as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Chalmette. On Sundays after Mass, Lee would go out into the community and give communion to those who could not make it to mass on Sunday. He was also an usher at the St. Louis Cathedral for many years.
For those who knew Lee the best, he was committed to saying the Rosary daily. He would pray for many he knew, and those he did not know. While in the seminary as a young man he learned how to make rosaries. He would make them as gifts, and for extra income.
Lee is survived by his loving wife Barbara Egle Richeaux, children Lisa E. Richeaux (Robert Wiggins), Lori Richeaux Hopkins, grandchildren Kevin Hopkins Jr. (Alyssa), Kathryn Lee Hopkins, Bobby Lee Paiz, and great grandchildren Khloe Lombardino, Millie Lombardino, and Michael Hopkins who is due soon.
He is preceded in passing by his father Lee Joseph Richoux (Richeaux) Sr., mother Dorothy Breaux Richeaux, and son Lee Joseph Richeaux III.
A visitation will be held on Thursday November 5, 2026 at 10AM with a funeral mass to follow at 11AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at 1000 Goodyear Blvd. Picayune, Mississippi 39466.
Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the mausoleum located at 2618 Hwy 43 S. Picayune, MS 39466.
The family requests no flowers be sent to the service.
