Obituary

Linda Burtchaell Craddock, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, graced this world with her kind spirit and unwavering love. Born on August 22, 1947, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, Linda retained the charm of her birthplace throughout her life as she had lived in and around the city for many of her early years. As a member of the Stardusters Drum and Bugle Corp in her youth, Linda traveled around the country with the group to march in various parades. After graduating from Chalmette High School in 1965, her early working years were spent at Acme Refrigeration and the City of New Orleans.

In 1977, she moved to Picayune with her family to manage and operate Tawiki Park, a family business offering natural facilities for recreational activities. The water park was located in the buffer zone of Stennis Space Center until Hurricane Katrina forced its closure. In the years that followed, Linda dedicated her life to nurturing her family and taking care of her home. Alongside this devotion, Linda’s life was marked by her delightful passions. A true treasure hunter at heart, she loved to browse thrift stores and garage sales, always on the lookout for a great bargain. Helping others was also a priority for her, and she used her time and resources to do what she could to lend a hand. She passed away on January 13, 2026, surrounded by the family she cherished, leaving behind a legacy woven with warmth, humor, compassion, and devotion.Linda was a beacon of thoughtfulness and care, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her love for her family was evident in every interaction, and she found immense joy in their milestones and everyday moments. As a mother to her daughters, Jamie Owen Strahan (Thomas) and Emily Nicole Craddock, she nurtured them with love and guidance, instilling in them the values that she held dear. Linda's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her grandchildren, Lindsey Strahan Lopez (Dylan) and Kelsey Strahan Welch (Jay), who were her pride and joy.

She shared a bond with her brothers, Michael Burtchaell (Mayra) and James Burtchaell (Linda), who will forever treasure the memories they created together. Her nephew, James Alan, also felt the warmth of her affection.

While Linda is now reunited with her husband, Edgar "Chuck" Craddock, and her beloved parents, James John Burtchaell Jr. and Henrietta Tobler Burtchaell, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will forever be remembered as a loving matriarch whose light will guide her family and friends through their days. Linda Burtchaell Craddock's legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew her.
