Linda Lavinghouse, born on August 7, 1948, was a cherished member of her family and a beloved friend to many. She passed away on January 30, 2026, at her home in Picayune, MS.

Linda's life was characterized by her deep affection for her family, which remained her greatest joy. She is survived by her significant other, James D. Stockstill, who shared many cherished moments by her side. She is also remembered fondly by her brother, Roy Gunter, and her stepdaughter, Christy Messa. The warmth of her love extended to her grandchildren—Josh, Jeffrey, Dillon, Justin, Ashley, and Kayla—and to her numerous great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Linda's vibrant spirit was reflected in her passionate interests. An avid Elvis fan, she enthusiastically embraced the music and legacy of the King. Traveling to Nashville with James created lasting memories and adventures that she cherished. In addition to her love for music, Linda was an enthusiastic doll collector, a hobby that brought her joy and satisfaction as she sought out unique pieces to add to her collection.

In her passing, Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She was preceded in death by her father, James Gunter; mother, Geneva Townley Gunter; son, Charles Ray Porter; daughters, Tammy Hayes, Angela Porter, and Beverly Vice; and brother, Frank Gunter. Each of her loved ones carries a piece of Linda's spirit with them, eternally grateful for the impact she had on their lives.
