Lydia Rhea Jefcoat, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on January 30, 1943, to Minnie Lee Wright and Eugene McInvale, Lydia’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith, love, and commitment to those around her.
Lydia was a devoted member of the Picayune Church of God, and her faith in God was the foundation of her life. Her strong belief in God provided comfort and strength to her family and friends.
Lydia was married to Paul LaDell Jefcoat, and together they shared a remarkable life full of memories, laughter, and love. She was a mother to her three children: Mitzie Boudreaux, Paul “Stanley” Jefcoat, and Shari Jefcoat. Lydia’s love extended to her grandchildren—Christopher Boudreaux, Jonathan Boudreaux, Courtney Schroeder, Paul “Jacob” Jefcoat, Makayla Jefcoat, and Matthew Jefcoat—and great-grandchildren, Lydia, Leland, Layton, and Larkin Boudreaux, and Henrik Schroeder.
Lydia is also survived by her siblings: David Sims, Michael Sims and Joyce Sturdivant and is preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy McInvale. Each of whom shared a special bond with her throughout her life. Together, they created memories and supported each other in their shared journey.
A celebration of Lydia’s life will be held on April 12th at Picayune Funeral Home. Visitation will occur from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM followed by service.
Lydia’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
