Mae was born in New Orleans, LA to Minnie Marie Perot. She married Joseph Walter Hord Sr and together they had nine (9) children. Mae worked at Ding’s restaurant in Metairie, LA for many years alongside her mother. Afterwards, she worked as a finish house cleaner alongside her daughter. Afterwards Mae became a sitter for most of her grandchildren who thought the world of her. Mae’s favorite holiday was Christmas. She would cook the best creole gumbo and mirliton stuffing. Mae loved to cook for her family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting the casino. Her favorite casino slot was the Phoenix.

Mae is preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Marie Perot Laborde, Grandson Michale Keith, great great granddaughter Briell Keith,great grandson Walker Joseph Fontenot, daughter in law Patricia Hord and son in law Michael McMillan.

Mae is survived by her loving husband of 71 years Joseph Walter Hord Sr and their nine (9) children; Joseph Hord Jr, Edward (Rita) Hord, Mary McMillen, Paul (Deborah) Hord, Bonnie (Donald) Boudreaux, Robin (Ray) Mendoza, Donna (Thomas) Porter, Michael (Victoria) Hord, Dawn (Joseph) Marsh. Mae has 23 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

Mae is dearly loved and will be missed.
