Marie Ann Vicknair

Marie Ann Vicknair, a beloved matriarch, passed away on June 1, 2025, in Picayune, Mississippi, at the age of 69. Born on April 26, 1956, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she lived a vibrant life, embodying joy and warmth in every moment.

Marie was known for her infectious spirit and her unwavering dedication to her family. Her life truly revolved around her loved ones, as she poured her heart into nurturing her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her devoted sons, Robert Vicknair (Dawn) and Brian Vicknair (Cherie), her cherished daughters, Amanda Brown (Dwayne), Kimberly Wilhelm (Aaron), Nicole Vicknair, and Kristy Salva (Jeremy), as well as her sister, Pauline Vicknair. Marie's legacy lives on through her seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who will forever carry the love and kindness she imparted throughout their lives.

Throughout her life, Marie had an unquenchable zest for living. Known to always create a lively atmosphere, she never allowed a dull moment to pass. Her hobbies were as diverse as her talents; she enjoyed playing Bingo, fishing, and crabbing, yet her culinary skill shone brightest in her kitchen. Gumbo, her specialty, not only filled bellies but also warmed hearts, bringing family and friends together around the table. Additionally, her deep faith was a guiding force in her life, and she found solace in reading her Bible.

Marie had to bid farewell to many loved ones over the years, including her father, Frank Pomisino, her mother, Anna Mae Pomisino, and her beloved sisters, Leona, Lois, Penny, Charlene, Madeline, and Donna, all of whom were an integral part of her life’s tapestry.

A celebration of her life will be held on June 20, 2025, at the Picayune Funeral Home, with services commencing at 3:00 PM and concluding at 4:00 PM.

Marie Ann Vicknair will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her remarkable love, her joyous spirit, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of all who knew her.
