Mary Sue Hereford

Mary Sue Hereford, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, in Picayune, Mississippi. She was born on March 12, 1948, in Louisiana. Mary graduated high school from St. Scholastica Academy in Covington, Louisiana. During this time she met the love of her life, Buddy Hereford. They were married on September 21, 1968 and shared 54 years of marriage before his passing in 2022.

Mary was known for her generous spirit and her deep commitment to helping those in need. She proudly volunteered as a Sunday School teacher and served as a Leader for Women’s Aglow Fellowship, creating a lasting impact on her community. She had a good heart and was always willing to lend a hand or support someone who was less fortunate.

Her interests were many, and she kept herself busy with sewing, cooking, gardening, fishing, baking, and spreading kindness.

Mary is survived by her son, Jason Hereford, and his wife Claire, her brother Michael Buras, and her eight grandchildren, who will carry her legacy forward.

She joins in eternal rest her beloved husband Robert "Buddy" Hereford, her father Oscar Lloyd Buras, her mother Mary Antoinette Buras, and her siblings Bob Buras, Ann Buras, James Buras, and Alvin Buras.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 29, 2025, at the World Outreach Revival Center located at 900 Cayten St. Picayune, Mississippi 39466. Visitation will be begin at 10:30 AM with the service to follow for 11:00 AM.

 Mary will be remembered for her loving nature, her passion for service, and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey on this earth.
