Maxine Smith of Picayune, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the age of 85.
Maxine was a lifelong resident of Picayune, Mississippi and a charter member of Westlawn Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Leon Smith, Jr. (Donna); daughters, Marsha Delacroix (Clem), Karen Easterling (Gary), Sharon McKinnie, Leann Lumpkin (Lavern), and Jessica Smith; sister, Ellen Cooper (Kenneth); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Smith; parents, William O. Kemp and Mary J. Kellar; daughter, Julie Guidry; brother, Buddy Kemp; sisters, Hazel Dawsey, Doris Craft, Sue Garrott, and Mary Adams.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Solace Hospice.
Visitation will be held 6:00 pm.-9:00 p.m., Monday May 3, 2021 at Picayune Funeral Home. Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday May 4, 2021 at Westlawn Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Bro. James Reeves and Bro. Scott Downs.
