Meta W. Krause of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born on September 24, 1932, in Lee County, Texas.
Meta lived a fulfilling life, marked by her deep faith and strong family ties. She was a devout Lutheran, confirmed on April 14, 1946, at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Texas. Her religious commitment was a significant part of her identity. After marrying Paul Krause Sr. on October 21, 1951, Meta dedicated herself to her family and home, remaining devoted to her husband until his passing on November 27, 1986. They shared 35 wonderful years together.
Meta found joy in simple pleasures such as yard work and sewing, activities that allowed her creativity to flourish. She took pride in nurturing a beautiful home and cherished her time spent with loved ones.
Meta is survived by her children, Kenneth R. Krause, Dianna K. Rushing (James), Jerry L. Krause, and James K. Krause, along with her sisters, Della Mae Biehle and Carolyn Friedrich. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Betty Jean Walther and Jennifer Walther, as well as her grandchildren, Lisa, David, Christopher, Samantha, Michael, Brandi, and Steven. Additionally, Meta is remembered fondly by her great-grandchildren, Ashton, Landon, Gianna, Kadie, Blake, Kruz, Nash, Josling, and her great-great-grandchild, Cade. She was blessed with many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Meta was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Hattie Walther; her husband, Paul Krause Sr.; her sons, Paul Krause Jr. and Steven Krause; her brothers, Elmo Walther, Eddie Paul Walther, Billy Walther, and Elton Walther; and her sisters, Edna Greutzner, Elsie Jatzlau, and Bernie Symank.
Her legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to inspire those who knew her.
A funeral for Meta will be held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings, Texas on a date to be announced.
