Norwood John Hingle Jr., 84, a longtime resident of Picayune, MS, passed away on February 25, 2026.

Norwood served honorably as a cook in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from service, he began a career with the RTA in New Orleans and reenlisted in the Army National Guard. He eventually retired from both the RTA and the National Guard at the rank of Sergeant.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Marie Hingle; his son, Norwood J. Hingle III (Shannon); his granddaughter, Mercedes Hingle Vedros (Joey); and his great-grandchildren, Jericho Hingle and Jolie Vedros. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norwood John Hingle Sr. and Elmire Peltier Hingle.

Visitation for Norwood will be held on Tuesday March 3, 2026 for 10AM followed by an 11AM Funeral Mass at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at 1000 Goodyear Blvd. Picayune, MS 39466. Burial to follow at New Palestine Cemetery.
