Patrick "Dudley" Whitfield, born on October 29, 1952, in Picayune, Mississippi, was a cherished individual, and a devout servant of Christ, who brought joy to those around him. He passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Dudley had a vibrant personality that shone through in his passion for comedy. He loved making people laugh, and his humor was a gift he shared generously with friends and family. He played football for the Picayune Maroon Tide, and for Pearl River Community College, and was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Dudley also took great pleasure in fishing, often finding peace and joy by the water's edge, but most of all he enjoyed spreading the world of Christ to the world through his testimony.
Dudley is survived by his sister, Tricia Collins (Larry), as well as his nieces Caitlin Arnold (Jacob), Nikki Arnaud (Forrest Walters), and Hannah Arnaud. He also leaves behind a great niece, Ruby Roberts, a step great niece, Marley Walters, and great nephews Judah Arnold and Samuel Arnold. His beloved fur baby, Macy Macy, was also a constant companion in his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul E. Whitfield Sr., his mother, Mildred E. Bounds Whitfield, his brother, Edwin Whitefield Jr., his sister, Connie Sue Whitfield Smith, and his dear friend, Becky Blades.
Patrick Dudley Eugene Bartholomew Ledbetter Esquire III's legacy of laughter and love will carry on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be announced and officiated by Bro. Gary Sumrall and Bro. Joey Smith.
