Becky had a deep and abiding love for her Lord, her family, and her church. Upon graduating from high school, she attended Southwestern Assemblies of God College (now Nelson University), where she completed general education courses for one year and participated in basketball and cheerleading. It was soon after that she met the love of her life, Don Hunter, at a local Arkansas CA Rally. Their connection was immediate, and they were married on May 31, 1963, beginning a devoted life together that would span over five decades. Becky worked at a local Zales Jewelry store while living in Arkansas and later served as a Bank Credit Card Processor after moving to Huntsville, Alabama. Following the birth of her two children, she embraced her calling as a homemaker, pouring her life into her family. Becky and her husband, Don, spent most of their married years in Houston, Texas, where they attended several churches before finding their church home at Christian Temple. There, they faithfully served in many capacities while raising their children. Becky dearly loved her children, Dana and Dan, as well as her son-in-law, Mike, and daughter-in-law Rachel. She found immense joy in becoming “Nonny” to her five grandchildren: Jonathan, Nathan, Kathryn, Jordyn, and Avery. She recently welcomed her great-granddaughter, Daisy. Becky and Don shared a love for gospel music, camping, playing card games, and traveling with dear lifelong Christian friends they met throughout their 51 years together. They also enjoyed collecting antiques, especially Grapette memorabilia, while Becky had a particular fondness for teapots and Camark pottery. Their home was a treasure to all who visited, filled with unique pieces and cherished collections that reflected the history and memories of their lives. She also had a passion for sports and was a devoted fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Houston Astros throughout her life. She could often rattle off sports knowledge better than anyone else in the room. In their retirement years, Becky and Don moved to Picayune, Mississippi, to be closer to family. There, they became part of the Christian Life Assembly of God church family, where they continued to serve faithfully as they were able. One of Becky’s simple joys during this season was gathering each morning at Hardee’s for breakfast, sharing laughter and life with special friends. Becky loved people. She loved opening her home, hosting others, and telling stories from her life and travels. She brought warmth, joy, and connection wherever she went. She lived a life well-lived and leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and cherished memories.
Becky's Celebration of Life will be held on Monday April 27, 2026 at Christian Life Assembly of God Church located at 1015 MS-43, Picayune, MS 39466. Visitation will be held at 10AM with the Celebration of Life to follow for 11AM.
