Ricky Stoy Berrigan, a dedicated and beloved member of the community, passed away on February 15, 2026, in Poplarville, Mississippi, surrounded by loved ones. Born on January 1, 1955, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Ricky was a man of remarkable character and deep commitment to his family and profession.

For fifteen years, Ricky served proudly as a firefighter, a role that encapsulated his bravery and dedication to helping others. His colleagues and the community remember him not only for his service but also for his warmth and kindness. He was truly a wonderful man who touched the lives of many through his unwavering spirit and willingness to lend a hand.

Ricky's passions extended beyond his firefighting career; he had a profound appreciation for nature, which was reflected in his involvement with the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the New Orleans Bonsai Society. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to cultivate beauty in his surroundings.

Ricky was a devoted family man. He cherished his wife of 42 years, Martha Berrigan, and was a proud father to his daughter, Rebecca Cutie (Richard), and son, Richard Hebert (Gina). He also took immense pride in being a grandfather to his grandson, Skyler "Huck" Cutie, imparting his wisdom and knowledge to him, which he considered one of his proudest accomplishments. Ricky is also survived by his sisters, Patricia Boudreaux and Deborah Hallal.

Ricky's legacy is marked by his love for his family, his commitment to his community, and his passion for life. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Stoy Berrigan and Delores Kathman Berrigan, who surely welcomed him into eternal rest.
