Robert “Bob” Theron Barnes passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the age of 81, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was devotedly and joyfully cared for by his beloved wife, Blanche “Toni” Zimmerman Barnes, whose love and companionship were a constant source of comfort.

Bob is survived by his children, Robert “Bobby” Barnes and Kelli Guadagnoli (Nick), and his cherished grandchildren, Apryl and Brennan, who brought him great pride and happiness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theron Barnes and Leah Mariande Barnes.

Bob was a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School, Class of 1964. A proud and dedicated millwright, he spent many years working for the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority. Outside of work, Bob enjoyed trawling and fishing for speckled trout, often with the speakers blasting some good old rock and roll. He also had a deep passion for Corvettes and classic cars—a love that reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship, style, and the simple joy of the open road.

Bob will be remembered for his quiet strength, his devotion to his family, and the many memories he created with those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Picayune Funeral Home, located at 815 South Haugh Ave., Picayune, MS. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., with the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
