Rowland "Lynn" Hurst

Rowland "Lynn" Hurst Sr. was born on October 12, 1954, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, in Picayune, Mississippi. Lynn was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather who touched the hearts of many.

Lynn was married to his wife, Iris Hurst, for 51 years. Together, they built a beautiful family that included their son, Rowland Lynn Hurst Jr. (Lacy), and daughter Kellie Galloway (Ricky). Lynn took great pride in his role as a father and cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren: Mia Galloway, Myka Galloway, Mya Galloway, and Lily Hurst.

Lynn is survived by his brother Bobby Hurst and sisters Pam Bourne and Sandra Kramer, who will all miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Bruce Hurst, his mother, Hilda Kerley Hurst, and his brother, Joseph Eddie Hurst.

A visitation in Lynn's honor will be held on October 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Picayune, Mississippi. This will be followed by a Mass from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the same location, with a burial to follow at Gipson Cemetery.

Lynn Hurst Sr. will be remembered for his kindness, love, and the joyful spirit he shared with everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
