Sarah Jo Lindsey

Sarah Jo Lindsey, 88 of Poplarville, MS, (formerly of Jack/Zion Chapel, Alabama) passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Highland Hospital, Picayune, MS. She was born December 4, 1936 in Elba, Alabama.

A memorial service and visitation will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Mitchell Chapel Church of God; 98 Mitchell Chapel Road; Poplarville, MS 36470

Sarah Jo previously worked at Troy State University, and later in hospitality, until she and Gordon retired to Baldwin County, Alabama. The last four years, she had relocated to Poplarville, to live with her son, Phil.

Sarah Jo was predeceased in death by her husband of 43 years, Gordon Harris Lindsey; her father, Voun D. Smith; mother, Leila Miles Smith; brother, Billy Dwight Smith; sister, Diane Miley; son, Ronald Bruce Lindsey; and grandson, Phillip Chad Lindsey; and her fur-baby Porkchop, who passed away just 10 days prior to Sarah.

Survivors include her son Phillip H. (Melissa) Lindsey; grandsons, Kyle (Elizabeth) Lindsey; and Daniel Cooper; great grandchildren, Liam, Laiken, Lily, Chad, Josh and Callie.
