Vernon Earl Lucas, age 74, of Picayune passed away Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Highland Community Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Vernon, a native of Arkansas, was a boat captain and a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Edna Robin Lucas of Picayune; sons, David Lucas of Arkansas and Kenneth Lucas of Louisiana; daughter, Roxanne Lucas Edwards of Picayune; brother, Robert Lucas of Mississippi; sister, Dorris Ann of Arkansas; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Alice Lucas; parents, Robert and Mary Wells Lucas;
brother, Floyd Lucas; and sisters, Christine Sullivan, Emeline Byerly and Evelyn Colburn
