William Edward "Ed" Snider, age 80, of Picayune passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Ochsner Medical Center-North Shore in Slidell, Louisiana.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 31st at 10:00 a.m. at Picayune Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery.
Ed was born in Rocky Mountain, North Carolina and moved to Picayune from Sylacauga, Alabama thirty-nine years ago. He was employed as an inspector with DCAS Quality Control, was a U.S. Army veteran and a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Evelyn Shirley Snider of Picayune; two sons, Stephen Lee Snider of Picayune and William Gregory Snider of Carriere ;one sister, Dorothy Loper of Tuscaloosa, Alabama;five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Sadie Snider; three sons, Ronald Edward Snider,David Wayne Snider and Jerry Monroe Snider.
